Cardiff born and bred but lived in and around Oxford for more than half my life.

Guitarist, bass player and singer.

Lover of spy novels

Hater of wars and intolerance

Observer of popular culture

Car nerd

Story teller

Been playing blues since my earliest days.

I try to interpret the blues from my own lived experiences and not as a pastiche of what has gone before.

Other influences include rock, jazz, R&B, soul and world music.

Writer of songs that are not necessarily autobiographical.

I have been fortunate enough to live through some of the most amazing years in music - but doesn’t every age feel that? Possibly. Anyway, I am the writer of a Substack series called Love Me Do 2 Hotel California which explores music and life from 1962 until around 1976/7.

I am not especially nostalgic but, to be honest, preferred being in my 20s in the 70s than in my 70s in the 20s.

My first novel, to be published in 2027/8, is called Resurrection and Retribution. It’s about an ex soldier and undercover investigator who is brought back from a PTSD half-life a shabby detective

and a beautiful woman.

Now writing about a social climbing arms dealer for my second novel
